1914 Obituary 
JOHN WILLCOCKS, born at Mussoorie, India, on the 31st July, 1859, died at Ealing on the 21st August, 1913.
After passing out first of his year from the Thomason Civil Engineering College, Roorkee, he entered the Indian Public Works Department in 1879, and passed almost his entire service of 30 years in the railway branch.
Amongst other important appointments, he held the offices of Consulting Engineer for Railways to the Bombay Government, Junior Consulting Engineer for Railways, Calcutta, Engineer-in-Chief of the Nagda-Muttra State Railway, which he designed and constructed, and Agent in Burma of the Burma Railways Company. He resigned Government service in 1909 with the rank of Chief Engineer.
Mr. Willcocks was elected a Member of The Institution on the 13th January, 1903.
