John White Footwear

1990 UK Shoe Group Ltd sold the business — based in Rushden and Corby — to a new company being set up, to be known as John White Footwear[1]

The company suffered falling orders and a closure was announced in November, 1990, although a plant in Warwickshire was saved following a takeover by a subsidiary of Wollaston company, R. Griggs and Co.[2]
