1908 'We understand that the directors of John Tinsley, Ltd., Darlington, have decided to make extensive additions to their shops and manufacturing plant. The company manufacture winches and hauling gear, both steam and electric driven for colliery work: also donkey winches for ships use, winches for shipyard and slipway hauling gears. In view of the increasing orders for plant, the company have taken the step mentioned.'
