1966 Obituary[1]

"We regret to record the death, on November 14, of Mr. John Swain, chairman and managing director of John Swain and Son Ltd., engravers and printers, of London.

Mr. Swain, who was eighty-one, was the grandson of the founder of the family firm, of which he became a director in 1916. John Swain and Son was founded in 1857, only a year after THE ENGINEER, and has supplied blocks for our illustrations continuously from that date to the present time."
