JOHN SCOTT RICHARDSON served his apprenticeship with Messrs. Robey and Company, and gained further experience in a large engineering works in Ghent. He returned to the service of Messrs. Robey and superintended the erection of mining plant in Chile and Peru. He also acted for a time as the firm's representative in Scotland.
In 1898 he was appointed manager of Messrs. Fabricades, Ingleses of Buenos Ayres.
Three years later he returned to Glasgow and for more than twenty-five years was the representative in Scotland of Messrs. Marshall, Sons and Company.
Mr. Richardson, who was born at Oxford in 1865, became a Member of the Institution in 1891.
His death occurred on 7th March 1927.
