John Sanderson lived for a time at Darnall Hall but later occupied the New Hall, near the Works of Sanderson Brothers and Co.

Sons: Edward Fisher Sanderson, and Charles Sanderson (1803-1873)

Charles Sanderson (1803-1873), the second son of John Sanderson of Sanderson Brothers and Co, had his own steel works in Sharrow Vale. He patented many inventions relating to metal manufacture, and according to Fischer, was an able mineralogist.
