1877 Born in Coventry the son of John Sharp, a Draper, and his wife Elizabeth.

Earliest motorist still around in 1952. One J Russell-Sharp, who began with a home-built car in 1895, claimed that record. And he was still driving in 1952.

1911 Living at Elgin, 2 Waldegrave Road, Hanger Hill, Ealing: John Russell Sharp (age 35 born Coventry), Engineer - Oil Testing - Automobile Engineers. With his wife Dorothy Violet Sharp (age 35 London) and their son John Russell Sharp (age 1 born Wembly). One servant.[1]
