1786 Advert: 'To be SOLD by AUCTION, By THOMAS KIRK, At the Factory of John Rollason, in St. Peter's Parish, Derby,
ALL that well got up Cotton Machinery, consisting of two Spinning Machines, Drum, and Roving Frame ; Set of Finishing Cards; Set of Breaker Cards; exceeding neat Engine Lathe, Fluting Engine, and Several other Lathes, Machinery, &c. belonging the Cotton Manufactory.— The Sale to begin on Monday next, at ten o'Clock. N. B. A Quantity of COTTON YARN to be disposed of.'[1]
