1917 Obituary [1]

JOHN ROBERTS, born 4th June, 1850, died at Swansea 30th December, 1916.

From 1871-75 he was engaged at the Landore Siemens Steel Works, as surveyor, draughtsman, and subsequently Engineer in charge of the Construction Department, Railways, etc.

He then practised as a Consulting Mining Engineer, advising several of the most important public and private undertakings in the Swansea district, and directing some of the principal collieries and a large fuel-oil manufactory.

He was elected an Associate Member of The Institution 2nd February, 1897.
