  • 1907-12 Assistant Lecturer and Demonstrator in Electrical Engineering.
  • 1909-12 Lecturer in Electrical Machinery, Liverpool University,
  • 1912-15 Finsbury Technical College (Chief Assistant to Professor Thompson).
  • 1915-16 service overseas with R.N.V.R.
  • 1916-19 Experimental Wireless Officer.
  • 1919-23 Assistant to Doctor Eccles, Finsbury Tech. College, and Lecturer in Electrical Machinery, Faraday House.
  • 1923-30 Professor of Electrical Technology, Indian Institute of Science,(Hon. Fellow 1930).
