1911 Living at Elworth Sandbach: Samuel Cookson (age 60 born Elworth, Sandbach), Farmer. With his wife Fanny Stede Cookson (age 61 born Sandbach) and their four children; Eveline M. H. Cookson (age 22 born Elworth, Sandbach); Fam Steele Cookson (age 19 born Elworth, Sandbach); Fanny Doris Cookson (age 17 born Elworth, Sandbach); and John James Cookson (age 21 born Elworth, Sandbach), Motor Engineer and Motor Car Driver (Garage).[1]

Studied engineering at Manchester Technical College. Was apprenticed to Belsize Motors in 1905 and afterwards worked with J. A. Lawton and Co., and with the Grosvenor Motor Co.
