John Herbert Betts was born in 1918.

He entered the firm of Alford and Alder, Ltd., in 1935 and remained there as Draughtsman until the outbreak of war, when he joined the Royal Air Force.

He was killed on active service on 11th November, 1940.

He was elected a Probationary Graduate in 1939.
