1890 John Fleming and Company Limited was incorporated as a private company, with capital of £50,000, to acquire and carry on the business of John Fleming and Company, sawmillers and timber merchants, Aberdeen, and also the Victoria Sawmills, Aberdeen.[1]

c.1902 The mills were established on the site in St. Clement Street.
