John Duncombe born (c1737-1810), assisted Thomas Telford on the Ellesmere Canal and the Caledonian Canal.[1]

He was son of John Duncombe (1695-1749) of Ivinghoe, Bucks and Mary Haynes ( -1751)

John Duncombe (c.1737) married Elizabeth Egerton and had 4 children; Elizabeth, Mary, Martha, John Ambrose Egerton

1799, 1st May - Martha Duncombe (daughter of John c.1737) married Thomas Denson (1765-1811)

Died 1810 in prison at Inverness
