1871 Living at Petches Farm, Finchingfield: John C. Willsher (age 29 born Finchingfield), Farmer of 314 acres employing 24 men. With his sister Mary E. Willsher and his father Charles W. Willsher. One servant.[1]

1873 October. He sells Petches Farm with all stock.[2]

1881 Boarding at London Road, Maidstone: John Chaplin Willsher (age 39 born Finchingfield), Consulting Mechanical Engineer. With his wife Louisa Willsher (age 41 born Maidstone) and their son Charles Garrett Willsher (age 14 born Finchingfield).[3]

1901 Living at 70 Perry Vale, Lewisham: John Chaplin Willsher (age 59 born Finchingfield), Consulting Mechanical Engineer - Employer - Widower.
