JOHN BRADLEY, who was born in 1891, served an apprenticeship in the iron works of Cochrane and Company, Dudley, from 1906 to 1911, where he continued as junior draughtsman for a further three years.

On the conclusion of active service in the Territorial Army in 1916 he was engaged, for a brief period, on the inspection of war materials for Bullers, Ltd., Tipton.

His next employment was that of estimating draughtsman for James Gibbon and Company, Wolverhampton.

In 1919 he began a connexion with the Deritend Stamping Company, Ltd., Birmingham, which lasted until his death on 2nd January 1952. During this period he was in charge of the drawing office, and was responsible for estimates.

Mr. Bradley had been an Associate Member of the Institution since 1936.
