John Blackmore

From Graces Guide

Born in London 19 May 1801, the youngest of 11 or more children of Edward Blackmore (b.1755), a tailor of Henrietta Street, Covent Garden, and his wife Dorothy. During 1828-9 he appeared to have been engaged on the Hertford Union Canal. He had moved to Carlisle by 1830. He died on 15 March 1844.[1]

1835 John Blackmore of Ryton, Managing Engineer of the Newcastle and Carlisle Railway, became a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers.[2]

1836. Marriage of Mr. Blackmore, Civil Engineer, Newcastle, to Ann Nixon the daughter of Mr. Nixon, formerly of Carlisle.[3] [4]
