1914 Established in 1848 by Gideon Anderson and John Anderson (brothers). Continued by John Anderson from 1860 (retired). Joined in 1890 by Thomas Anderson and Gilbert Anderson (sons), the present principals. Business was originally started and carried on by the Dutch 200 or 300 years ago, as a Fish-curing station in summer only. Has been used for Fish-curing ever since. Premises: Cover large area with farm. Staff: Twenty to seventy. Branch: 011aberry, Shetland. Specialities: Salt Fish, Herrings, Shetland Ponies, Cattle, Sheep, Wool and Hosiery made from native wool.
