1825 Born in Lyncombe and Widcombe, Somerset, (i.e. on the outskirts of Bath), son of Samuel and Maria Brecknell[1]

1851 Married Hanah Maria Stone in Bristol[2]

1861 Job Brecknell 35, brass founder, lived in Bristol with Hannah Maria Brecknell 34, Henry Brecknell 4, Maria Brecknell 3, Edwin Brecknell 1[3]

1871 Job Bracknell 45, brass finisher, lived in Bristol with Hannah M Bracknell 44, Henry Bracknell 14, apprentice brass finisher, Mana Bracknell 12, Edwin Bracknell 11, Minnie Bracknell 3[4]

1880 A brass finisher, of Lawrence Hill, Bristol when he died; his sons, John and Edwin were both brass finishers[5]

1881 Hannah Brecknell 55, widow, confectioner, lived at 28 St Lawrence Hill, Barton Regis, Bristol, with Minnie Brecknell 14[6]

  • NB this person seems to have much the same attributes as Henry Brecknell, Senior, who does appear in the 1851 census.
