1927 Obituary [1]

JAMES PATCHETT died at his residence, "Haybridge Hall," Hadley, near Wellington, on July 30, 1927.

He was chairman and managing director of the Shropshire Iron Co., Ltd., chairman of the Hadley Trench and Wrockwardine Wood Lighting Co., Ltd., director of the Union Steel Corporation of South Africa, and of other companies.

He was a large employer of labour in the manufacture of iron, steel, copper, and bronze, and was a member of the Birmingham Iron Exchange, the Midland Iron and Steel Wages Board, the South Staffordshire Iron Masters' Association, and the Iron and Steel Wire Manufacturers' Association.

He was elected a member of the Iron and Steel Institute in 1882.
