1832 Baptism of daughter Emma in Offham, Kent[1]

1852 of No. 2, Prospect-row, Bermondsey, in the county of Surrey, Civil Engineer, filed a patent for the invention of improvements in the composition of artificial fuel, and in the mode of manufacturing the same.[2]

1861 James Martin 61, surveyor of shipping, lived in Mile End with James H Martin 26, ship and insurance broker[3]

1871 James Martin 71, surveyor to Lloyd's Register, lived in Lewisham with Elizabeth A Martin 69, James H Martin 36[4]

1880 Died at 83 Granville Park, Lewisham, Kent, in his 81st year. [5]
