1891 Living at 12 Alexandra Road, Orrell and Ford: James Bibby (age 38 born Scotforth, Lancashire), Seed Crusher, Oil Refiner and Compound Cake Manufacturer. With his wife Margaret Bibby (age 29 born (?) Lancs.) and their children; James Bibby (age 13 born (?) Lancs.); John Bibby (age 12 born Scotforth); William B. Bibby (age 10 born Scotforth); Mary Bibby (age 8 born Scotforth); and Thomas M. Bibby (age 3 born Scotforth). One servant.[1]

With his wife Margaret Bibby (age 49 born Lancaster) and their son James Bibby (age 33 born Lancaster), a Civil Engineer and Widower, and his grandson Henry Mason Bibby (age 2 born Liverpool). James Bibby, who was elected a Member of the Institution in 1942, was educated at Walton Institute, Liverpool, and Liverpool Technical School. In 1895 he obtained a Liverpool City Scholarship to Liverpool University, where he gained the degree of B.Sc. with honours; he continued at the University as a Research Scholar and was awarded the M.Sc. in 1899.
He served his apprenticeship with W. Rowlandson and Co., Liverpool, and subsequently held various appointments, from 1899 to 1902 as Works Manager of Pomona Engine Works, Manchester, from 1902 to 1905 Chief Draughtsman and Works Superintendent of East Wolseley Works, Birmingham, from 1905 to 1908 Works Manager of Kynoch, Ltd., Birmingham, and from 1908 to 1913 Works Manager of Edward Rennis and Co., Birmingham. From 1914 to 1919 he served as Managing Director of Electro Metals, Ltd., and London Director of Boring and Co.
In 1919 he became Managing Director of Wellman Bibby Co., London.
Mr. Bibby was a staunch supporter of the Benevolent Fund of the Institution and he served on the Committee of the Fund for a number of years.
His death occurred on 12th September 1956, in his seventy-ninth year.
