1819 Company established.
1896 Clynelish Distillery, Brora, together with the farm adjoining, was purchased from George Lawson and Sons by James Ainslie and Co, and John Risk, of Bankier Distillery, Bonnybridge. The purchase also included a large stock of whisky of the seasons from 1870 to 1896.[1]
1913 Ainslie, Baillie and Company Limited, 201 Leith Walk, Leith, was registered with capital of £35,000, to acquire the business of Walter Baillie and Son, wholesale wine and whisky merchants, Timber Bush, Leith, and the business of James Ainslie and Co, distillers, and wholesale wine and spirit merchants, Leith.[2]
