Mr J. W. Dunford (Member) has been made Joint Managing Director of the Highfield Gear and Engineering Co. Ltd.

Mr Dunford served his apprenticeship with the Company and subsequently worked on the design and development of gear units. He was appointed Chief Designer in 1952 and Technical Director in 1958. He is well-known for his work as a gear designer, particularly in the North of England.

Elected a Graduate of this Institution in 1946, Mr Dunford became an Associate Member in 1951 and transferred to Member last year.
