1879 Company established by J. V. Barrett. Sold shale oil, fish oils, tar, lamp oils and tallow.[2]

1973 Company brought by Colin and Peter Bailey. Sold putty, creosote, wood preservers, white spirit, methylated spirits and linseed oils.[3]

1975 Became a limited company.[4]

1980 Moved to St Ivel Way, Warmley.[5]

2000 Acquired Woodman Hill Ltd.[6]

2010 Acquired Shelton Technologies.[7]
