From Graces Guide

On the 19th of July, 1830, a patent was issued to Rawe and Boase, of Albany-street, London, for "improvements in steam carriages and in boilers; and a method of producing draft." The specification of their patent contains a description, with drawings, of a complete locomotive carriage for the common road.
