1851 Joseph R Cooper 35 (born in Birmingham) gun maker and Susannah Cooper 34 lived in Aston[3]

1855 Patent to Westley Richards, manufacturer of Birmingham, and Joseph Rock Cooper, manufacturer of Birmingham, on "an improvement or improvements in breech loading fire arms"[4]

1861 Patent to J. R. Cooper for improvements in breech loading fire-arms
