Intercolonial Railway of Canada
1856 The Government of New Brunswick had arranged for construction of a line of railway from St. John on the Bay of Fundy to Shediac on the Gulf of St. Lawrence, which was at that time called the European and North American Railway and later known as the Intercolonial Railway of Canada.
The Intercolonial Railway of Canada, also referred to as the Intercolonial Railway, was a historic Canadian railway that operated from 1872 to 1918, when it became part of Canadian National Railways.
