1928 Initial Services (1928) Ltd was incorporated to acquire the previous company of similar name including its holdings in Office Clean Towel Hire Co., the Clean Towel Supply Co, and Initial Laundry Ltd[1]
1954 British Electric Traction Co (BET) acquired 22 per cent of the shares in Initial Services Limited.
1985 BET acquired Initial
1989 Initial Services Ltd was renamed Initial UK Ltd
1996 BET was acquired by the much smaller Rentokil, after a hostile take-over bid. The merged company was named Rentokil Initial, thus including the name of one of BET's main subsidiaries.
