1832 Incorporated General Steam Carriage Company formed for the purpose of propelling carriages on common roads by steam. Founding directors were Viscount Valentai, James Cockburn, Charles D. O. Jephson, Joseph Dixon and W. Alex. Mackinnon. Mentions the carriage running between Cheltenham and Gloucester. [1]
