1884 October 27th. Born in Leamington

Educated at Berkhamstead Public School.

1911 First flew with Sir Frank McClean

1912 Qualified as a pilot at Eastchurch.

1913 Commissioned in the R.N.R.

1914 Transferred to the Royal Naval Air Service at Central Flying School

WWI Took part in the attacks on Zeebrugge and Bruges

1919 Permanent commission R.A.F.

1921-25 On Engineering Staff duties in India

1926-8 In command of Engine Repair Section, Henlow

1928-9 Chief Technical Officer, Henlow

1929 Promoted to Group Captain

1931 Appointed Commanding, Station Headquarters, Amman, Palestine
