1837 Advert: 'HOPE IRON WORKS AND FOUNDRY; COMUS-STREET, RICHMOND-ROW, LIVERPOOL, JOHN JONES (formerly with Mr. John Cragg, at the Mersey Foundry) begs to inform his Friends and the Public, that he has taken the Premises as above, where he intends to carry on the CAST and WROUGHT IRON BUSINESS, in its various branches, and trusts, from his practical knowledge, that Merchants, Brokers, Architects, Surveyors, Engineers, Builders, and others, will find facilities in this Establishment not to be met with generally. Those Friends who favour him with their orders may rely on their being executed with fidelity and despatch.'[1]
