Originally Hird, Jarratt, Dawson and Hardy (Richard Hird, John Jarratt, Rev Joseph Dawson, and John Hardy). The partners established the famous blast furnaces at Low Moor, near Bradford in 1790. Jarratt left the business in 1813.
