1905-19 Lecturer in Physics at King's College, London
1919 Lecturer in Natural Philosophy at Edinburgh University
1923 Professor of Natural Philosophy at St Andrews University. Director of the Physics Research Laboratory at St Andrews.
1930 F.R.S.
1954 Died in Rosshire
