    Messrs. H. Smith and Sons, NEW FOREST IRON WORKS, DOWNTON, beg to inform tbe Nobility, Clergy, Gentry, and inhabitants generally, that they have been appointed sole Agents in this district and neighbourhood for the Acetylene Gas Syndicate, and are prepared to give estimates for the installation of the light in Churches, Chapels, Mansions, Private Residences, &c., the gas being specially suitable for general use ....'[1]
