- Minerals and Chemicals - British Industrial Sand, supplier of sand to the foundry and glass industries, specialist grinding and coating techniques
- Refractories - G. R. Stein, recent acquisitions: Marshalls (Loxley) and Belref
- Industrial Products - Henderson industrial doors, Henderson Security
1990 Invested in the largest division, Building Products, to offer concrete pipes and manholes[3]
1990 Already owned Glow Worm Boilers; acquired Saunier Duval of France to make the group the largest gas boiler maker in Europe[4]
By 1994 was based in Sheffield[5]
1997 Continued decline in earnings; sold the refactories business[6]
2000 Sold Hepworth Minerals, supplier of industrial silica, to Watts Blake Bearne[7]
2000 Acquired by Vaillant of Germany[8]
