HENRY THOMAS FOWLER, a native of Birmingham, was born in 1881 and educated in that city.
He served his apprenticeship with the Wolseley Tool and Motor Co., and from 1907 to 1912 was experimental foreman at a Birmingham foundry.
He then became works superintendent for a cycle and motor factory at Barton-on-Humber, and in 1915 was appointed machine shop superintendent for the Austin Motor Co.
In 1918 he was appointed to a similar position in the works of Messrs. John I. Thornycroft at Basingstoke, with whom he remained until his death on 30th December 1926.
Mr. Fowler became an Associate Member of this Institution in 1921.

Henry Thomas Fowler was born in 1881, and received his technical education at Saltley College, Birmingham.
After serving his apprenticeship with Wolseley, he was appointed Foreman of the Experimental Department of Beresford and Sons, and subsequently Machine-Shop Superintendent at the Elswick-Hopper Cycle and Motor Co, Barton-on-Humber.
He then became Machine-Shop Superintendent at Austin, where he remained for three years, and in 1918 was appointed to a similar position in the Works of Thornycroft, Basingstoke; this position he occupied until his death, which took place on 30th December, 1926, at the age of forty-five.
He was elected a Member of the Institution of Automobile Engineers in 1921.
