HENRY RAMSAY COLLINS died at Durban, Natal, on the 13th April, 1912, aged 62.

Born in Gloucestershire, he gained his early experience with the Chester Hydraulic Co, Laird Brothers, Birkenhead, and on the London and North Western Railway.

In 1872 he went to Natal and started a consulting practice in Durban. In that capacity he was associated with many important works, including municipal buildings and the Durban tramways. Subsequently he took up journalism and became a newspaper proprietor and editor.

Mr. Collins was elected an Associate Member of The Institution on the 6th March, 1877.
