Henry Petter (c1827-1907) of Shapland and Petter.

c1827 Born at Barnstaple the son of James Petter (1796-1863), a Cooper, and his wife Charity Williams (1797-1876)

1848 September 16th. A printer, married Salome Northcott at Stepney; his father, James, was a cooper[1]

1854 Retired from the publishing firm of Petter and Galpin and subsequently entered into a partnership with Mr. Shapland, acting as traveller, etc.

1881 Living at 18 Ebberley Place, Barnstaple: Henry Petter (age 54 born Barnstaple), Partner In Cabinet Making Employing 125 Men and 36 Boys. With his wife Salom Petter (age 54 born Lapford) and their son Herbert Petter (age 26 born Barstaple), Clerk. Two servants.[2]

1887 Married at Axebridge to Zoe Wolston (1844-1933)

1887 Retired from the Shapland and Petter business.[3]

1891 Listed as a lodger at Somerleigh, Ilfracombe: Henry Petters (age 64 born Barnstaple), Timber Merchant. Also Zoe Petters (age 46 born Brixham).[4]

1901 Living at The Avenue, Minehead: Henry Petter (age 74 born Barnstaple), Wholesale cabinet manufacturers and Employer. With his wife Zoe Petter (age 56 born Brixham). Two servants.[5]

1907 April 19th. Died
