Henry Percy Boulnois
Henry Percy Boulnois (1846-1927), Engineering Inspector at the Local Government Board
1846 January 15th. Born in London.
Early education at Pocklington Grammar School and went from there to King's College, London.
First practical experience of engineering was gained on the Vendee Railway, working as assistant engineer.
1864 Worked under John Grant and carried out tests on the strength of Portland Cement for Joseph Bazalgette
1874 Worked as City Surveyor at Exeter
1883 April 3rd. Appointed Borough Engineer of Portsmouth.
1890 City Engineer at Liverpool
When he left Liverpool he was appointed an Engineering Inspector of the Local Government Board, becoming Deputy Chief Engineering Inspector when he retired.
1911 Retired
1913 Vice Chairman of the Council of the Road Improvement Association.[1]
1927 January 9th. Died in London.

'We regret to have to announce the death of Mr Henry Percy Boulnois, which took place in London on the 9th inst.
Mr. Boulnois was born in London on January 15th, 1846, and he had therefore all but completed his eighty-first year at the time of his death.'
