Manufacturers of woollen goods
c.1750 Began manufacturing for the linen trade.[1]
c.1856 Installed a compound mill engine at the Priestgate Woollen Mills at Darlington; the engine was built by Robert Stephenson and Co, designed by Jeremiah Head; this engine was fitted for the first time with a true parabolic governor, to which was subsequently added an air cataract to prevent hunting.
1874 Owned Three Mills:
- Low Mill
- Priestgate Mill
- Railway Mill
1887 Henry Pease and Co.’s Successors exhibited a power loom in operation.
