HENRY LOWTHIAN CLEAVER, born on the 27th August, 1862, died at Calcutta on the 15th December, 1908.

Passing out of Coopers Hill College, he entered the service of the Public Works Department of India in 1886, and was employed for some years on coal-fields and railways in Wardah State.

From 1898 until his death, he was engaged on the Eastern Bengal State Railway, latterly with the rank of Executive Engineer.

Mr. Cleaver was elected an Associate Member of The Institution on the 4th December, 1888.
