"HENRY HORWOOD JENNINS, whose death occurred in his eighty-seventh year on 1st January 1948, was one of the oldest Members of the Institution, having been elected in 1893.

He was educated at Leeds Grammar School and served his time at the works of Mr. William Holdsworth, engineer and tool maker, of Leeds, from 1875 to 1878. After spending three years with Messrs. John Fowler and Company, Ltd., as a draughtsman, he took up an appointment as manager to Messrs. Edwin Oldroyd and Company, Ltd., hydraulic engineers, Leeds. Subsequently he became managing director and continued as such until his retirement in 1932."
