1856 Married. 'On the 3rd of February, at St. Thomas’s Church, Motueka, New Zealand, by the Rev. T. L. Tudor, Henry Handyside, Esq., second son of James Ronaldson Handyside, M.D., of St. Petersburg, to Harriette Burnand, widow the late John Henry Burnand, Esq., of Nelson.'[1]

1865 Erected a timber bridge over the Wai-au-ua, New Zealand. Designed by J. Blackett.[2]

1875 Patent. 'Henry Handyside, London, improvements in railway rolling stock. Dated December 15. 1873'[3]

1876 of 9 Victoria Chambers, Westminster, London.[4]

1883 Already deceased. 'At Christ Church, Herne Hay, James R., son of the late Mr. Henry Handyside, Civil Engineer, formerly of New Zealand, to Edel P., daughter of Rev. W. J. Rundell, of Plunket House, The Grove, Hammersmith'[5]
