Henley Group

1986 The Henley Group was created when 35 diverse but non-core businesses were spun off by Allied-Signal whose shareholders received shares in the new entity. Three subsidiaries:

1987 Created three public companies. Henley distributed approximately 20% of the common stock of its Fisher Scientific Group subsidiary to Henley shareholders; Wheelabrator Technologies sold 6.9 million shares of its common stock in an initial public offering. Approximately 45% of the common stock of Henley Manufacturing Corporation was distributed to Henley shareholders.

1988 Henley divided itself into two public companies that enabled Wheelabrator Group and the new Henley Group to be independently valued.
