Heathhall Farm Iron Bridge
at Heathhall, near Dumfries
This bridge was opened in 1863 to carry a farm track over the Dumfries-Lockerbie branch railway. Engineer: Hugh H. Maclure.
It is of unusual lightweight construction, with cast iron side plates having slender ribs. The remains of ornate cast iron balustrades are lying on top of the bridge.
The former railway now serves as a cycleway, passing under the bridge.
