Head and Wright

1856 Joseph Wright (1826-1893), after he superintended the erection of the Ormesby Iron Works, Middlesbrough, was largely instrumental in the foundation of this business - the partnership of Joseph Wright with Thomas Howard Head as Head and Wright at the Teesdale Iron Works, Stockton-On-Tees.

1858 supplied the small engines for William Beverley and Co's blast furnaces at Jarrow[1]

c.1860 Joseph Wright retired in favour of Mr. Joseph Ashby. The firm became Head, Ashby and Co.
