Hay Railway

From Graces Guide

The Hay Railway ran from the Brecknock and Abergavenny Canal at Brecon to Eardisley. It was sanctioned by 51 Geo. III., c 122, of May 25th, 1811, but its route was altered the following year by 522 Geo., c 106.

It was a 3ft 6in-gauge horse-operated plateway, connecting with the Watton Plateway at Brecon and to the Kington Railway at Eardisley Wharf.

Part of this line was used in the construction of the Brecon and Merthyr Railway and part for the Hereford, Hay and Brecon Railway[1]
