1920 Acquired Pickfords[1]

1933 The Hay's Wharf Cartage Co subsidiary was acquired by the 4 main railway companies[2]

1958 The 50th AGM of the company was held in London[3]. Subsidiary companies of Hay' Wharf Ltd included:

1961 Acquired Chambers Wharf and Cold Stores[4]. Acquired Samuel Taylor and Sons, a cartage business[5]

1964 Acquired London and Rochester Trading[6]

1966 Acquired J. T. Stratford and Son[7]

1968 Sold Offshore Marine to Cunard Steam Ship Co[8]

1970 Started redeveloping land around Tower Bridge and on the south side of the Thames[9]

1972 Acquired Ross Chemical and Service, a company with similar transport interests[10]

1980 Acquired by the Kuwait Investment Office which had held more than 30 percent of the shares for some years[11]

1981 Renamed Hays Group[12]

The property interests were all divested

1987 Hays Group, provider of transport and distribution services, chemical manufacturing, staff recruitment and graphic arts, was sold to its management[13]

1989 The company was listed on the Stock Market[14]
