1925 Hartley, Sons and Co of Stoke-on-Trent, were awarded the silver medal of the Royal Sanitary Institute for their "Spiroflow" system of bio-aeration treatment for sewage.[1]

1926 Advertised for sale a 350 HP triple expansion vertical steam engine, 15 ft flywheel, by Scott and Hodgson, having been replaced by a larger engine[2]
